Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-ray films and performing routine diagnostic procedures.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Operate radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-ray films as directed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures.

    ">
  • Demonstrate knowledge of practice for the radiographer and competency in diagnostic procedures.

    ">
  • Provide documentation of individual patient care according to history and clinical information on mammogram requests and quality assurance documentation as directed.

    ">
  • Explain appropriately the rationale of mammography procedures to patients.

    ">
  • Recognize changes in patient status and appropriately communicate to nurse and/or doctor.

    ">
  • Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis by use of a technique chart to produce quality mammograms.

    ">
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of principles, practice and procedures involved in the operation of mammography equipment.

    ">
  • Anticipate and recognize safety hazards, legal liabilities and intervene through appropriate channels.

    ">
  • Provide and promote quality care in accordance with office policies and procedures.

    ">
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, patients and other employees of the department and office.

    ">
  • Recognize individual accountability for and participate in cost containment goals of the department and office.

    ">
  • Demonstrate continuous self-improvement through utilization of knowledge gained in clinical experience in mammography.

    ">
  • Participate in in-service education, staff meetings and other continuing education programs to maintain optimal technical knowledge.

    ">
  • Exhibit ability to problem solve, prioritize and evaluate patient care activities.

    ">
  • Provide a role model for peers and other health care personnel.

    ">
  • Adhere to department and office policies.

    ">
  • Acept and support learning needs of new staff.

    ">
  • Perform procedures requiring independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative.

    ">
  • Evaluate equipment breakdowns and assess the need for service.

    ">
  • Responsible for quality control of mammograms processed.

    ">
  • Responsible for charging procedures performed.

    ">
  • Adhere to the mammography protocol for screening and diagnostic mammograms as determined by the PE Board of Directors.

    ">
  • Maintain area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.

    ">
  • Attend safety classes and other continuing education classes as offered by Physicians East, P.A.

    ">
  • Maintain yearly CPR certification.

    ">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • ">
  • AA degree in Radiologic Technology and RTR certification;

    ">
  • Completed mammography course and registered in Mammography;

    ">
  • One to two years of experience in diagnostic imaging or related field;

    ">
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;

    ">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    ">
  • High-energy person who enjoys working as part of a team.
