Customer Service Representative Associate II

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customer Representative Associate II to join our team in the Operating Under the Influence/Habitual Offender unit at the Maine Department of Motor Vehicles. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in handling complex processes related to Maine's operating under the influence, habitual offender, and ignition interlock laws.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical advice to the general public, police officers, and attorneys on license suspensions, revocations, and restoration for OUI and habitual offenders, as well as ignition interlock procedures.
- Assist with the restoration process to support the 13 branch offices.
- Review police officer's alcohol offense reports to determine completeness and accuracy, ensuring timely administrative alcohol suspensions in accordance with law.
- Enter court convictions and court-ordered suspensions for alcohol violations, as well as court information related to serious violations such as road rage and manslaughter.
- Review records to determine if a person's driving history makes them a habitual offender, and determine eligibility for restoration and driving under Maine's ignition interlock program.
- Collect, validate, and reconcile revenue to ensure accurate financial records.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively with multiple interruptions.
- Ability to work as a team and contribute to a positive environment.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail.
- Knowledge of programs and resources with a compliance or eligibility component.
- Knowledge of query and research techniques.
- Ability to make intermediate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to verify, code, compute, and/or reconcile data on standard documents.
- Ability to track documents for follow-up action.
- Ability to effectively resolve problems.
- Ability to assist customers and providers with reporting, eligibility, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to effectively present routine factual information to individuals/groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
