Job Title: Family Support Worker

At Gandara Mental Health Center, Inc., we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team. This role is responsible for providing information and educational resources to family members, as well as referrals to community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs and strengths of families requesting support, engaging and supporting them using a strength-based approach.
  • Collaborate and provide outreach to local community-based network of service providers, including referrals, resources, and advocacy.
  • Facilitate public awareness of the Family Resource Center, supporting development and implementation of a robust outreach plan to proactively bring families into the FRC.
  • Host family, youth, and group support groups for program participants and their families, engaging parents in leadership development activities such as workshops/trainings.
  • Develop the FRC calendar, actively engaging in the planning process and implementation of community and Coalition events.
  • Represent the FRC in the community and state-wide networking/educational conferences, attending FRC Meetings, agency/department meetings, and trainings.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree required.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in a community-setting using a family-centered, strength-based approach.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet agency requirements for driving history records and criminal background checks.
  • Exceptional demonstrated interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Corel, and related office technology.
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish/English).
