Category Manager

At Exact Sciences, we're seeking a skilled Category Manager to develop and execute category strategies for high spend/complex spend categories. This role involves negotiating and contracting with vendors, ensuring alignment with our category governance models and business plans.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain, finance, or business, with experience in category management, negotiation, and contract management. They will be responsible for developing category charters, roles and responsibilities, and conducting category meetings. Additionally, they will monitor the external environment for new trends and opportunities, engage business stakeholders to clarify and prioritize value requirements, and collaborate to establish category targets and track progress.
This is a hybrid position, and the successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a quickly changing environment with rapidly changing needs and requests. They will be able to make decisions with limited information, operate with autonomy, and communicate complex information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels.
The Category Manager will play a key role in the phased rollout of category management across the organization, partnering closely with business stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met. They will drive aggressive savings initiatives for indirect spend, manage the savings pipeline based on key procurement targets, and document and communicate savings success to business owners.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills, with excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to organize, present, and convey complex problems or issues within and across other functions, upholding company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
This is a full-time position located in the US, and the successful candidate will be eligible for a competitive salary, bonus, and company stock.
