Job Overview

As a key member of the Mercedes-Benz Group team, you will be responsible for overseeing the carrier submission of freight invoices, payment of all parts logistics-related payments using a transportation management system (TMS), and utilizing standard audit methods to validate invoices. Your expertise will be essential in facilitating the posting of invoices in MBUSA's SAP Finance (CoFiCo) system to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure seamless transition of financial data across all platforms (EDI, TMS, 3P data partners, CoFiCo)
  • Establish and maintain vendor accounts in Accounts Payable & Vendor Management systems
  • Create & maintain contracts, cost allowance codes, tables, and accounting G/L matrices to support the invoice validation process and account coding
  • Update rate changes resulting from new contracts and/or the addition of new shipping points
  • Review daily invoicing data received in TMS and approve/reconcile/action any discrepancies within 7 days
  • Process manual invoice exceptions in the CoFiCo system for exceptions that can't be handled within the TMS
  • Daily review of invoice exceptions, identify errors and communicate with carrier's accounts receivable teams to resolve within payment terms
  • Define EDI and TMS system requirements to support new carrier invoicing requirements and reduce manual invoice processing for the team
  • Support the development of, and distribute routine financial reporting to track transportation expenditures and prepare forecasts relative to transportation services
  • Compile aging statements to recommend monthly accruals in support of financial operating plan forecasting (FC/MBBP)
  • Recommend system enhancements and submit related change request documents to drive solutions and system improvements
  • Support lean & automation initiatives to increase autonomy and productivity
  • Lead the day-to-day support of the team's process coordinators, escalating any roadblocks or support needed to Supervisor
  • Act as the subject matter expert for invoice processing, with the ability to fully train additional coordinators as needed in the future
  • Facilitate the implementation of relevant key performance indicators within the Parts Transportation team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited school) or equivalent work experience
  • Must have 3-5 years (total) of experience in the following:
    • Proven experience in identifying trends in data & continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on vendor management and costs
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
    • Strong proficiency in reporting systems or other relevant software applications
    • Proficiency with PowerBI preferred

  • Administration: Financial statements, accruals, and invoice processing. Knowledge of administrative procedures, process/project development, and system processes
  • Vendor Management: Proficiency in working with service providers to ensure expectations are met and processes are followed
