Production Supervisor/Frozen Foods

Join Riviana Foods as a Production Supervisor/Frozen Foods and take on a challenging role that requires strong leadership and technical skills. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our frozen foods production line, ensuring that all products meet the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Process Management: Plan and schedule staffing, processes, and equipment to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Troubleshooting: Identify and address work processes and equipment issues to minimize downtime and optimize production.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all internal and external procedures and regulations, including HACCP, GMPs, and FDA/USDA regulations.
- Sanitation: Ensure that sanitation programs are in place and results exceed requirements.
- Product Development: Formulate recipes and processes for new product development, ensuring that results are properly documented and statistically sound.
- Continuous Improvement: Initiate and execute continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Leadership Development: Partner with departments to deliver on-time project commitments and develop leadership skills among team members.
- Employee Development: Plan, identify, and implement leadership training, employee development, and performance management.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with facility leadership to ensure compliance and set criteria for quality, sanitation, food safety, and continuous process improvement.
- HR Management: Identify and address employment and HR issues, maintain a sound working relationship with the bargaining unit, and participate in labor negotiations as required.
- Budget Management: Provide input and manage operating budgets, adhering to budget standards regarding staffing, overtime costs, and materials usage.
- Cost Control: Track assigned area actuals to budget, explain variances to plan, and identify and execute action plans.
- Process Analysis: Analyze processes, equipment, and performance trends across designated shifts, establish standards, and monitor results.
- Improvement Initiatives: Determine actions required to make improvements, ensure implementation, and champion new product development.
- Education: College degree preferred in Food Science, Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-10 years of production experience in the food industry, with a minimum of four years of supervisory experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical background with experience in processing IQF & frozen food products, leadership in process control, and mechanical knowledge of processing, packaging, and warehousing equipment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations, particularly frozen regulations.
