Job Description

The Denver Regional Council of Governments is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager (Communications) to lead our Decarbonize DRCOG initiative. This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary range of $3,498.17/semi-monthly to $7,996.34/month, depending on qualifications.

About the Position

This class specification represents the core areas of responsibilities for the Program Manager (Communications) role. Specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring staff is trained.
  • Develops and oversees multiple budgets, contracting functions, and allocates resources.
  • Develops and maintains internal and external relationships, participates in meetings, committees, and task forces to communicate information regarding services, programs, and areas of opportunity.
  • Reviews and approves records, reports, contracts, and other documents, makes decisions or provides recommendations based on findings.
  • Serves as an advisor to the organization's executive team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, mass communications, public relations, or a field directly related to assignment.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible related experience and two years of supervisory experience.
  • Master's Degree or higher in a field directly related to assignment may be preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working proficiency in Spanish or other locally prevalent language(s) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to handle engagement and/or planning projects that involve politically sensitive or controversial issues.
  • Ability to discern and make decisions about competing priorities, identifying and centering those with the biggest potential for impact.
