Security Lieutenant with Advanced Access Control Expertise

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is a premier organization seeking a highly skilled Security Lieutenant to join its team in Morgantown, WV. As a key member of our security force, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and protection of our facilities, personnel, and assets.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Security Lieutenant with advanced access control expertise to supervise our security guards and oversee the enforcement of regulations designed to prevent breaches of security. The successful candidate will exercise judgment and discretion in dealing with various situations, including responding directly to intervene, keeping situations under surveillance, or reporting them to appropriate authorities.
Responsibilities
This role requires a high level of physical fitness and proficiency with firearms or other special weapons. Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing inspection tours for Armed Security Officers (ASOs) and monitoring their locations during rounds.
- Authorizing deviations from established schedules whenever unusual conditions or circumstances occur.
- Performing all designated guard functions, including testing, monitoring, and responding to building fire alarm and electronic security systems.
- Ensuring the safety and protection of building personnel and property against injury, molestation, loss, or damage from preventable causes.
- Protecting Government property, materials, equipment, supplies, records, and data against loss, damage, unauthorized access, or unauthorized removal.
- Reporting hazardous conditions and items in need of repair or attention.
- Maintaining daily reports and log entries for visitors and activities that occur at the facilities during each 24-hour period.
- Preparing additional reports using Government-provided forms or electronic media as required.
- Providing and maintaining a high state of security in and around the buildings and responding to emergency management situations.
- Notifying the Security Control Room and police and fire departments in the event of an emergency or an unusual occurrence.
- Conducting visitor center operations, including issuing badges, maintaining visitor records, and operating x-ray machines and metal detectors.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 21 years old or older.
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Have not had a previous private investigator or security guard license revoked or denied in any state.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable reference and background check results.
- Have reliable transportation to/from work.
Working Environment
The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Occasional travel may be required, and the job also involves outdoor settings which can cause exposure to weather.

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000-$80,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location of Morgantown, WV.
