About the Role

The Regional Sales Director for Abbott Laboratories will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability in the assigned region. This individual will develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue goals, working closely with sales representatives and clinical teams to identify market opportunities and establish annual sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue goals and exceed sales objectives
  • Manage and coach sales representatives, clinical representatives, and other field personnel to achieve sales targets
  • Negotiate contracts with external customers and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor market dynamics and competitive activity, providing insights to inform sales strategies
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the sales organization
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that enables all employees to contribute to their full potential
  • Develop and execute organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups
  • Monitor and adjust the annual budget for the sales department

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability in a similar role
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in coaching and developing sales teams
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a quality system environment and ensure compliance with governmental regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Technical or business knowledge of medical devices, with prior experience in the industry
  • Experience with Structural Heart products and a strong understanding of the market
