Job Summary

This position provides personal financial services to military personnel and their families at assigned installations. The successful candidate will provide education and counseling on various financial services, including one-on-one counseling, briefings, and presentations. They will work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program meets the needs of the installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families.
  • Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
  • Develop and disseminate informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and provide a wide range of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Possess the skills to effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication.
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
  • Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • May consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • May consider applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
  • Must have over a thousand hours of financial counseling experience.
