Main Function:

As a Medical Technologist at Griffin Hospital, you will be responsible for performing, calculating, recording, and reporting laboratory analysis in various sections of the laboratory, including blood bank, serology, hematology, chemistry, microbiology, histology, and urinalysis. This data will be used for the purpose of treatment and disease diagnosis.


Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Perform a variety of tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Correlate and interpret tests within the department.
  • Inform nursing floors and/or physicians of abnormal results.

Maintenance and Attendance:
  • Perform required routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Notify Section Head or Manager of needed non-routine repairs and replacements.
  • Maintain responsibility for attendance/reliability to ensure efficient and cost-effective hospital operation.

Education and Experience:
  • Associates or Bachelors in Medical Technology/Biological Science.
  • ASCP Certified Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
  • Experience preferred, but not required.
