As a Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care, support, and assistance in activities of daily living to our individuals. We value the well-being and independence of the individuals we serve and strive to provide a person-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care for individuals with disabilities and maintain the highest quality of care.
  • Cover multiple programs in an assigned region to ensure appropriate coverage and quality care for individuals supported.
  • Assist individuals in maintaining a safe and healthy lifestyle, monitoring for any changes in their health, behavior, appearance, and/or patterns of activity.
  • Treat individuals with dignity and respect at all times, providing opportunities for them to build relationships with families and friends.
  • Act as an advocate for the individual and ensure they are treated in accordance with Vista Care policies and procedures.
  • Perform personal cares, including assisting with personal hygiene, appointments, medication administration, and related tasks.
  • Assist with meal preparation, including shopping for groceries, preparing and/or serving meals, and cleaning up.
  • Foster positive relationships with individuals, guardians, fellow staff, and Vista Care leadership.
  • Responsible for thorough and accurate documentation in all systems, including health tracking, incident reports, and time tracking.
  • Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, bed-making, and cleaning.
  • Ensure the safety of individuals, staff, and fellow staff members.
  • Transport individuals to scheduled appointments, activities, and errands.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (higher education in a related field is a plus).
  • Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, or related roles is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of mental and intellectual disabilities and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals and their families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to caregiving.
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and make responsible decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
