Certified Medical Assistant

Geisinger seeks a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our outpatient team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and clinical support for physicians and other providers in the outpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient information, including reason for visit, weight, vital signs, and medication review
- Assist patients as needed to prepare for visits with providers, ensuring their safety and privacy
- Provide direct patient care as directed by providers, including EKGs, wound dressings, and diabetic foot exams
- Administer medications according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork accurately and efficiently
- Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support patient care and functioning of the clinic
- Document in the electronic medical record and use the scheduling system as designated
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred
- Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
