Job Summary

The Yale University is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst, Compliance and Costing Specialist to join its team. This is a key role that will support the department's work across various portfolios, primarily focusing on University Service Providers and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the annual USP registration and rate submission process, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and University policies and procedures.
  • Monitor activity through quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and agreements, policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Provide key support for the incremental volume of external sales requests, assist in developing and implementing new quality assurance processes, and contribute to process development, enhancement, and efficiency efforts.
  • Establish an understanding of the University's financial internal controls and federal regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR ), and assist with related compliance monitoring activities and analysis.
  • Provide financial information (identifying risk, recommending policy/process improvements) through analysis and reporting.
  • Document internal control objectives, reviews, and results, and provide professional service and communicate internal control guidance to University end-users.
  • Implement costing activity principles to support internal and external charges across the University, and assist in preparing complex rate calculations for use in allocations of internal costs.
  • Play a key role in providing timely, accurate, high-quality financial analysis for review by the Associate Director and others.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated application of financial, accounting, and economic concepts.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated superior customer service abilities, and strong time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High standards for personal and professional excellence, achievement, and integrity.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and explain data accurately, and to analyze and resolve complex issues with judgment and tact.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with common business software applications (spreadsheet and database).
  • Well-developed accounting skills.
