Patient Access Representative 3 On-Site

The Patient Access Representative 3 (On-Site) plays a critical role in ensuring seamless patient registration and financial clearance processes at the UHealth Tower - Emergency Department. This position requires a high level of expertise in data entry, communication, and problem-solving skills to facilitate reimbursement for services rendered by the department.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information necessary for financial clearance of scheduled patient accounts.
- Contact patients' families or physicians' offices to obtain missing insurance information.
- Verify insurance and confirm insurance eligibility of patient coverage benefits, notifying patient and referring physician in the event of failed eligibility.
- Collaborate with scheduling departments to identify add-on patients.
- Obtain necessary authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals.
- Notify patients of liabilities prior to date of service and collect funds.
- Maintain appropriate records, files, and accurate documentation in the system of record.
- Serve as a lead resource for lower-level Patient Access Representatives.
- Recommend new approaches to management for enhancing performance and productivity.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
- Skill in data entry with minimal errors.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
