Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Nurse Clinician - Meds Specialist to join our team in an outpatient setting. In this role, you will provide direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and medical orders from a Practitioner.

About the Role

This position requires a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with experience in nursing procedures, medication administration, and patient documentation. You will be responsible for implementing basic nursing procedures, administering treatments, and documenting patient information.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Review medical records, identify patient needs, and prepare orders for authorization. Observe, collect, and document new information, informing RN or Practitioner of incomplete data or abnormalities.
  • Implementation: Administer medications as prescribed, prepare medications for Practitioners, and perform point-of-care testing as authorized.
  • Documentation: Document implementation of orders and patient responses. Record findings, instructions, and patient responses on appropriate forms or online records.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with RN/Practitioner to revise care plans and participate in staff meetings as needed.
  • Vaccine Management: Manage patient vaccine data, including updating the Hawaii Immunization Registry System, Electronic Health Records, and other patient records.
  • Inventory Control: Facilitate vaccine Health Plan and VFC inventory control, ordering vaccine and maintaining appropriate vaccine inventories.

Requirements

  • License: Licensed Practical Nurse (Hawaii) required at hire.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
  • Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of conflict resolution, customer service, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and written communication.

Estimated Salary Range: $64,000 - $84,000 per year based on location and experience.
