Surgical Technologist

About this role:

• We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for planning, preparing, and maintaining surgical instrumentation and the surgical field peri-operatively. They will perform various related activities post-operatively in relation to room and instrument decontamination.

This role is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and reports to the Nurse Manager, Operating Room.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of the operating room and surgical equipment
• Assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
• Collaborating with the perioperative team to ensure smooth patient care

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Successful completion of a program in surgical technology from an approved school required
• Certification in Surgical Technology required within 6 months of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required

Salary:

$45-$65 per hour based on experience.
