Aveanna Healthcare, a leading provider of pediatric home healthcare, is seeking compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses to deliver high-quality care to patients in their homes.

Estimated Salary: $30-$35 per hour.

Job Overview

We are committed to providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their families. As a Pediatric Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, adhering to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Quality Patient Care: Responsible for delivering and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with physician orders, ensuring compliance with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Patient Assessment: Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, reporting changes in condition to the supervisor and/or physician as necessary.
  • Care Coordination: Participate in and implement updates to the nursing care plan, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Infection Control: Provide care utilizing infection control measures that protect both staff and patients according to OSHA standards.
  • Education and Support: Educate patients and families on disease processes, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies to meet their unique needs.

Requirements

  • Nursing Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • CPR Certification: Current CPR certification.
  • Experience: One year of experience required working under current nursing license; preference given to those with six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting or home health experience.

Physical Demands

  • Communication: Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel to patient locations.
  • Mobility: Must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit, climb stairs, and move equipment without assistance.
  • Sensory Requirements: Must have visual and hearing acuity, strong sense of smell, and touch.

Environment

  • Allergens and Infections: May be exposed to allergens and other various conditions, including possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
