About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Member Service Representative to join our team at Local Government Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional member experience by offering personalized solutions and exceeding expectations.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of banking/member service experience, with excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills. Strong customer service skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet are essential.

You will be responsible for building and fostering relationships with current and potential members to increase their financial well-being. This includes demonstrating exceptional member service by providing personalized solutions, creating memorable interactions and exceeding member expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate exceptional member service by providing personalized solutions, creating memorable interactions and exceeding member expectations.
  2. Build and foster relationships with current and potential members to increase their financial well-being.
  3. Exhibit adept recognition and adjustment to member needs while employing active listening techniques to effectively de-escalate member concerns.
  4. Maintain and balance assigned cash drawer daily, while following operational procedures and cash limits.
  5. Accurately process member transaction requests and respond to member inquiries via various channels in a timely manner.
  6. Provide lobby support and maintain a strong knowledge of products and services available to Civic members.
  7. Assist with in-person opening of deposit and loan accounts by ensuring all information is received timely and accurately processed.
  8. Evaluate member needs and recommend loan options, complete member and loan applications and escalate to the lending department as necessary.

You will also participate in required meetings and trainings while promoting a positive team environment. Collaborating with internal departments to provide a closed-loop experience for member requests is also an important aspect of this role.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1-3 years of banking/member service experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Notary Public in North Carolina, or ability to achieve in the first 6 months of employment.
  • PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet.
  • Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Additionally, we would like candidates with credit union member service experience and knowledge of financial products and services, mobile and on-line banking.

Compensation

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and grow your career with Local Government Federal Credit Union. The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
