Parts and Accessories Manager

We're seeking a skilled Parts and Accessories Manager to lead our department's success in a powersports dealership. This role requires a strong background in mechanical operations, inventory management, and profit optimization.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing parts and accessories, with a focus on balancing profitability, people management, and inventory control. They will be responsible for establishing and communicating department budget goals, developing pricing guidelines, and negotiating with suppliers to secure strong profit margins.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating and implementing effective marketing and merchandising plans, establishing and monitoring a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) feedback system, and recruiting, hiring, and promoting the right individuals for various positions within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and communicate department budget goals
- Develop pricing guidelines to achieve targeted profits
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure strong profit margins
- Create and implement effective marketing and merchandising plans
- Establish and monitor a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) feedback system
- Recruit, hire, and promote the right individuals for various positions within the department
- Manage employees effectively on a daily basis to maximize productivity and morale
- Conduct ongoing performance evaluations and implement recognition, reward, and disciplinary practices as needed
- Provide timely training and development opportunities to strengthen employee performance
- Establish and maintain a parts and accessories order process that balances profitability with inventory turnover
- Ensure inventory accuracy by controlling shrinkage and obsolescence
- Implement an internal communication system for intradepartmental coordination and accountability
- Oversee and optimize the receiving and notification process
Requirements:
- Proven experience in parts and accessories management, preferably in the powersports or equipment industry
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and profit management
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and practices
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Marketing and merchandising experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- In-depth product knowledge of powersports or equipment parts
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic industry
