We're seeking an experienced and collaborative Senior Construction Manager for our Cary, North Carolina region who thrives when people are in sync and construction projects are running smoothly.


You'll take the lead on pre-construction and construction management responsibilities and be a leader to those reporting to you on the project.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering on work area scopes, budgets, reports, contracts, and schedules - you will help our teams exceed the client's expectations.

Your ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, and embrace lean principles will allow you to thrive in our fast-paced environment.

You'll bring your expertise to solve complex problems, ensuring the success of our projects.

You will work with trade partners routinely and help them successfully complete their work, and this will entail managing, and working collaboratively with both the Jacobs and trade partner field supervisors.

Most importantly, you'll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of your team and our planet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 15+ years of experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of construction in the life science industry.
  • Ability to manage a team of construction managers, safety professionals, superintendents, and field engineers working collaboratively with engineers, designers, procurement, and CQV team members.
  • Ability to manage trade partner construction teams.
  • Committed to safety with ability to work with the safety management team by following the project specific HSE plan.
  • Committed to quality with ability to work with the quality management team by following the field QA/QC plan.
  • Proficient in software use such as Microsoft suite and Bluebeam.
  • Understanding and ability to travel to project sites.
  • Ability to manage turnover processes and ensure walkdown facilitation.


Ideal Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30 training
  • Pharmaceutical experience
  • Strong communications skills
  • Lean construction delivery experience and ability to adapt to lean methods.
  • Ability to learn and use construction software (such Autodesk Construction Cloud)
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Professional Engineer (PE), or Project Management Professional (PMP)
