**Overview**

The Woodlands Hospital is a primary and secondary care hospital serving the North Harris and Montgomery counties. Our clinical services include cardiovascular, diagnostic imaging, women's services, neurosciences, pediatric care, surgery, pathology, pulmonary services, and sleep disorders.

We have clinical affiliations with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's Radiation Treatment Center and Texas Children's Hospital. This position has accountability for the patient care unit or service, focusing on leadership, communication, work environment, quality, fiscal management, human resources, and delivering competent clinical practice.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide leadership and facilitate staff to assume leadership roles through role modeling.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership skills and effective communication to achieve outcomes.
  • Articulate departmental goals and objectives to encourage active participation in clinical decision-making.
  • Foster a high-quality work environment by ensuring equipment and supplies are available.
  • Participate in unit programs, document results, report deadlines, and formulate corrective action plans for improvement.
  • Maintain established research-based standards of care and lead quality improvement projects.
  • Develop a multidisciplinary program to monitor quality care indicators.
  • Consistently meet customer service survey expectations.
  • Develop and review Departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in chart review audits.

**Financial Management**

  • Maintain fiscal budget, overtime, orientation costs, SSP costs, and medical supply costs.
  • Adjust staffing patterns according to unit activity and patient acuity.
  • Analyze budget variances.
  • Identify major hospital cost savings opportunities.
  • Identify new revenue-producing opportunities.

**Human Resources**

  • SUPPORT Shared leadership.
  • Facilitate professional growth and development of staff.
  • Demonstrate accountability for human and material resource management.
  • Comply with personnel policies and procedures.
  • Oversee orientation of all new employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

**Clinical and Professional Practice**

  • Ensure effective delivery of competent, compassionate nursing care.
  • Develop clinical experts in patient care areas.

**Requirements**

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years leadership experience or Master's Degree with no experience or Associates Degree Nursing with 5 years leadership experience.
