The Hilton Garden Inn Northeast is seeking a dedicated culinary professional to join our breakfast team. If you are passionate about food and take pride in your culinary creations, this position is ideal for you.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To prepare and present food items according to production needs and quality benchmarks while ensuring a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.

The breakfast cook will be responsible for morning meal preparation and cooking tasks, working during early morning hours. This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the breakfast service, ensuring guests enjoy a delightful and memorable dining experience.
  • Manage cooking and breakfast service while assisting with lunch preparations.
  • Set up and clean the kitchen post-breakfast service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for all food items.
  • Prepare dishes according to established recipes and specified quantities.
  • Communicate any potential issues to management promptly.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and uphold quality standards while managing food costs.
  • Ensure that food production, preparation, and presentation meet the highest quality standards consistently.
  • Adhere to personal grooming and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in menu development and creation of new dishes.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Work hours typically range from early morning to late morning.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Conduct general kitchen tasks as needed.
  • Assist with dishwashing when required.
  • Prepare food items efficiently.
  • Keep the workspace organized, clean, and sanitized.
  • Ensure quality control of all food items produced, including maintaining checklists and production records.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards diligently.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols when handling food and beverages.
  • Be able to read and follow recipes accurately and perform basic calculations.
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience in food handling within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Proficient in knife skills, including cleaning and chopping vegetables and fruits with precision.
  • Basic knowledge of various cooking techniques such as frying, steaming, grilling, and egg preparation.
  • Able to work effectively under moderate supervision.
  • Familiarity with commonly used proteins, fruits, and vegetables.
  • Ability to identify quality and spoiled products by visual inspection, smell, and taste.
  • Culinary diploma or certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • A genuine passion for the culinary arts.
