SASSO is seeking a highly skilled Public Relations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Public Relations department, you will be responsible for developing and executing all public relations efforts for our agency and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute PR plans for clients
  • Build and maintain media relationships
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests
  • Develop and implement editorial content calendars
  • Write press releases, stories, and other press materials
  • Develop and integrate communications principles and strategies

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Public Relations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or Marketing preferred
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Significant experience building and maintaining media relationships
  • Experience acting as a company spokesperson
  • Social media experience including Facebook, Twitter, and blogs
  • Understands public engagement and its implementation
  • Experience with tools and services such as Cision, Meltwater, wire distribution services, and other relevant PR platforms
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with office tools such as Workamajig (CRM), Harvest, Dropbox, Google Docs, Slack, and others a plus
  • Proficient use of Adobe Suite Products such as InDesign preferred
  • Event planning experience a plus
  • Commitment to working in a team-based environment
  • A proactive attitude; willingness to learn and take initiative
  • The ability to work under pressure and tight timelines and assimilate large quantities of information quickly, while maintaining attention to detail, drive, and flexibility
  • Resilience to enable you to deal with problems and constructive criticism
  • A persuasive, confident, and knowledgeable approach to all work communicated
  • Technologically savvy and up to date in all of the latest trends in your area of expertise
  • Ability to travel, if/when necessary (although very minimal if at all)
