Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Oil Service Technician to join our team at Haffner's, a prominent wholesale fuel distributor in New England. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial heating and cooling systems, as well as related tanks and piping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment at commercial and residential customer sites.
  • Communicate effectively with office staff and customers, ensuring timely updates and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Document all installed equipment, including make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures where applicable.
  • Diagnose and repair diverse electrical and mechanical service issues, explaining the issue and resolution to customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Understand and communicate company pricing and services to customers.
  • Repair equipment by obtaining necessary replacement parts, calibrating systems to manufacturer's recommendations, and thoroughly testing components for functionality.
  • Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business, such as newer systems, service contracts, and additional services.
  • Complete visits by obtaining customer signatures and correct customer information, including email address.
  • Notify dispatchers of any issues that require repair or compromise delivery or service.
  • Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
  • Maintain company vehicle, including frequent interior and exterior cleaning, refueling, reporting any mechanical issues, and ensuring they are corrected.
  • Participate in company-provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.
  • Conduct visual oil tank inspections, recording condition with pictures and descriptions.
  • Execute other duties assigned by the Service Manager.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in oil service or equipment sales preferred.
  • MA oil burner service license.
  • EPA 608 certificate preferred.
  • Clean MA/ NH driving record.
  • Understanding of blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Ability to pass company-provided drug test, alcohol test, and physical.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts.

This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Hourly Rate is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
