Teacher Aide Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Teacher Aide to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will assist the Head Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons, work with a team to provide a stimulating environment and activities, and encourage parent involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Teacher: Assist in planning and implementing lessons, and work with the team to provide a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Childcare Support: Help with childcare duties, including serving meals, assisting with toileting, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties, such as answering phones, door security, and other miscellaneous programmatic needs.
  • Communication: Maintain a calm and positive manner in all communications with children, coworkers, and parents, and engage with the children and implement activities in a developmentally appropriate manner.
  • Record Keeping: Help maintain daily attendance sign-in sheets and roll books, and communicate thoroughly and regularly with parents regarding their child's activities and development.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma required.
  • Skills: Warm, caring, and outgoing personality; ability to work well with others; and ability to create and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required.
