About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled neurologist to join our team as a clinical assistant or associate professor at Stony Brook University's Renaissance School of Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity for a general neurologist interested in building an outpatient practice and contributing to a renowned Department of Neurology.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to develop innovative clinical, educational, and research programs tailored to their unique academic interests. Our faculty members are leaders in various subspecialties, including Neuromuscular Medicine, Neuroimmunology, Epilepsy, and Movement Disorders.
About the Role
This position involves establishing a new behavioral neurology outpatient practice, which will serve as the hub for new patient referrals and long-term management of behavioral neurology patients. You will collaborate closely with faculty from Geriatric Psychiatry, forming a multidisciplinary team that contributes to the Stony Brook Center of Excellence for Alzheimer's Disease (CEAD). CEAD provides comprehensive medical services for diagnosing and treating individuals living with AD and other dementias.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Diagnose and manage behavioral neurology patients.
- Participate in General Neurology inpatient and consult services with limited weekend and overnight call responsibility.
- Supervise neurology residents and medical students.
- Support community engagement and education efforts.
- Expand outpatient services on Long Island's East End.
About Your Background
Qualifications include an MD degree (or foreign equivalent), eligibility for New York State licensure, completion of an accredited Neurology residency program, and Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Neurology. Preferred qualifications include experience working in high-volume Neurology outpatient practices and comfort covering general neurology inpatient and consult services.
