Legal Assistant Opportunity in Economic Crimes Division of the State of Kansas
Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
About the JobWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support the Economic Crimes Division in the Office of the Kansas Attorney General. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with attorneys, law enforcement agents, and support staff to perform paraprofessional legal and clerical work.
Key Responsibilities- Draft and file legal documents in connection with state and federal court proceedings.
- Schedule witnesses to appear and brief them on court proceedings.
- Coordinate subpoena process, ensuring timely service and completion of necessary documents.
- Maintain and update electronic document management systems, scanning documents for digital storage.
A legal studies or paralegal degree is required, or equivalent work experience as a legal assistant or secretary deemed sufficient by the Attorney General. Preferred qualifications include customer service experience, working with electronic document management systems, and electronic discovery experience.
