Key Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of grocery department operations, including inventory management, shelf replenishment, and customer service.
- Assist the Grocery Manager in overseeing the department and performing duties in their absence.
- Manage inventory levels and review orders to ensure product quantities meet customer demand.
- Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet sales and profit objectives.
- Communicate with other departments and store management to create attractive displays and promote cross-merchandising techniques.
- Attend and participate in store's daily huddles to ensure smooth function of the department and store.
- Responsible for general sanitation in the department and follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Control expenses, including payroll, within budgeted expectations and minimize damages and shrink through proper product handling and rotation.
- Ensure smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors and continuously improving job performance.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; associate or bachelor's degree in business related field desirable.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in management of retail/supermarket environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
