Job Description:

A Consumer Loan Specialist is the primary point of contact in the consumer loan process. This role involves gathering all necessary supporting loan documentation and ordering services related to securing collateral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with applicants to determine optimal product paths, discussing loan terms, rates, fees, and other costs.
  • Maintain contact with applicants throughout the loan stages, providing regulatory disclosures as required.
  • Communicate effectively with bankers, underwriters, and documentation specialists.
  • Evaluate loan applications, ensuring completeness and compliance with banking regulations and policies.
  • Gather important data and documentation from applicants.
  • Order verification documentation and collateral services as required.
  • Manage the loan process timeline to ensure timely closings and meet applicant needs and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Consumer Loan products and regulations, including TRID, HMDA, Reg B, ATR/QM, and HPML.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative to accomplish work objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a changing environment and prioritize tasks with exacting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain organization and critical thinking skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and work without close supervision.
  • Proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
