Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to lead our Blood Bank department at LabCorp. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory tests, supervising laboratory personnel, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Blood Bank department
  • Ensure accurate and timely laboratory test results
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel
  • Monitor and schedule laboratory workflow to ensure adequate assay coverage
  • Responsible for staffing all shifts in the department
  • Research and resolve production errors, escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained through Quality Control
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
  • Evaluate new process improvements and make recommendations
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback
  • Perform bench work as needed and maintain technical proficiency
  • Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
  • Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technologist/Technician in Blood Bank
  • Previous supervisor/leadership experience is highly preferred
  • ASCP and/or AMT Certifications are a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations
  • Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
