Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at San Juan Regional Medical Center. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping patients overcome communication and swallowing disorders, improving their quality of life and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on communication and swallowing techniques
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • Current New Mexico SLP license, either CFY or CCC
  • Sufficient previous experience to perform duties
  • Physical demands - refer to rehab department description of physical demands
Preferred Qualifications
  • Modified Barium Swallow Study experience
  • BLS/CPR
Work Environment

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate effectively with patients and staff, and maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion.

The Speech Language Pathologist will be required to work in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient units, and may be required to transport patients as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to lift, push, and pull varying weights, and will be able to work in a environment with wet, humid conditions, working near moving or mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and risk of vibration.

The Speech Language Pathologist will be required to have intact peripheral vision and depth perception, and will be able to see and focus on close-up and distant objects, distinguish colors, and hear alarms on equipment, fire alarms, overhead announcements, patients, families verbal discussions, instructions, and feedback from other healthcare providers.
