Job Summary:
As an Emergency Department Nurse Specialist with ECHN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care, utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal outcomes. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and provide accurate and pertinent reports of patient condition for safe transfer of care.

Responsibilities:
- Performs comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' conditions and care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Develops and revises individualized plans of care based on assessment and patient response to treatment.
- Utilizes critical thinking skills and sound judgment in priority setting and delegation, formulating and implementing teaching plans for patients and families based on identified learning needs.
- Demonstrates autonomous practice, consistent with evidence-based standards, pursuing personal and professional growth and development, and serving as a professional role model and mentor.

Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and have a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
- Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advances Life Support upon hire or receive certification within the new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment with ECHN in this role.
- 1-year of emergency department experience preferred; will consider experienced nurses without ED experience and new graduates with previous EMS/ED tech experience or a passion for emergency nursing.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess basic computer skills.
