Lead Financial Officer Job at Social Impact

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Finance to join our team at Social Impact, a leading international development management consulting firm based in the Washington, DC area.

Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Finance will be an integral member of our team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finance and accounting functions. This includes budgeting and planning, financial reporting, accounting operations, financial compliance, and outward-facing relationships.

About the Role:

This is a challenging opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to lead our finance division and play a key role in the growth and success of our organization. As the primary financial officer, you will work closely with our Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
  • Provide leadership for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives, taking a hands-on approach to key initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and financial advisors, ensuring accurate and timely reports, analyses, and projections.
  • Supervise the Controller and Internal Controls and Financial Compliance Manager, providing guidance on internal controls and financial compliance.
  • Collaborate across departments to increase efficiency in financial processes and strengthen financial management capabilities among staff members.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management and compliance.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  • Substantial relevant coursework or certifications, such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of financial, accounting, and payroll software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics SL, ReQlogic, Unanet, ADP Workforce, and QuickBooks.
  • Experience working with USAID and USG contracts in a for-profit environment, as well as knowledge of private foundations, bilateral and multilateral donors.
  • Knowledge of FAR and AIDAR regulations, with high-level integrity and dependability.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing teams and communicating effectively at all levels.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
