Job Summary:

The Advanced Imaging Specialist works independently, performing complex and specialized imaging procedures. The incumbent must be able to utilize a variety of advanced imaging equipment and computers. This position requires providing MRI screening of patients and employees, preparing maintenance and repairs, participating in quality assurance, and resolving issues related to MRI safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets the expectations of leadership competencies: self-leadership, team leadership, and organizational leadership.
  • Performs diagnostic imaging procedures using state-of-the-art computerized MRI equipment.
  • Demonstrates expertise with respect to MRI exams, procedures, and the use of pressurized injection equipment.
  • Assists radiologists in invasive and biopsy-type procedures utilizing MRI equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations.
  • Upon completion of procedures, programs the computer to ensure exam completion and stores scan data correctly on PACS for future reference.
  • Cordinates and prioritizes procedures during the workday to maintain high-quality patient care and continuity.
  • Ensures accurate coding and billing system entry.
  • Demonstrates competence in handling various age-specific groups to guarantee proper study completion.
  • Adapts assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards as promulgated by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and regulatory entities.
  • Handles patient information confidentially and does not solicit or disclose confidential information unless necessary for job duties.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) are essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Exhibits adherence to Christus Health core values.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A graduate of an American Medical Association-approved School of Radiological Sciences or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in clinical imaging settings is highly recommended.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in MRI is preferred.
  • Current state licensure is required.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also mandatory.

Estimated Salary Range:$64,000 - $85,000 per year
