Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at DNA Comprehensive Therapy Services LLC. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Initiate and complete all relevant documentation within organizational time frames, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a complete, appropriate, and positive experience for all clients.
  • Follow instructions and complete job duties as assigned by providers and management staff.
  • Perform a variety of medical assessments, including blood pressure, height, and weight, and provide appropriate and timely documentation.
  • Take medical histories and assist the physician and nurse with direct client care.
  • Initiate and complete all relevant documentation within organizational time frames.
  • Maintain, copy, and file patient records and other information as needed.
  • Monitor voicemails throughout the day, return calls, and effectively resolve the reason for the call within 24 hours of the call.
  • Triage patient phone calls, both incoming and on voice mail, and document the interaction within 24 hours.
  • Review Athena messages and respective inbox and messages, respond, and document accordingly.
  • Takes medication orders from psychiatrist/APRN/PA and phones in to pharmacy if needed, with appropriate documentation and confirmation phone call to client within 24 hours.
  • Prepare medication refill requests within 24 hours of receiving them.
  • Verify pharmacy information, last visit, last fill, insurance, pick up or mail, etc.
  • Prior authorizations should be handled within 24 hours of receiving the request from the pharmacy or insurance company, with documentation of all interactions with patient and pharmacy.
  • Update medications and respective information on patient's charts.
  • Provide guidance and education to patients on the details of what has been prescribed and when/where to get the medication.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One-year experience in healthcare, medical staff services preferred.
