Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations of our growing Finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

This position is primarily remote but requires occasional presence at our Monterey Park headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Supervise Accounting Team: Provide guidance, training, and support to an accounting team of 4.
  • Oversee Day-to-Day Activities: Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare Financial Statements: Develop and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring and analyzing budget-to-actual variances.
  • Cash Flow Planning: Oversee cash flow planning to ensure the availability of funds as needed.
  • Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and manage the annual financial audit process.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 7+ years of accounting experience in a nonprofit organization, preferably with supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of finance, accounting, and audit activities; excellent leadership and communication skills.
