Construction Project Manager

The Construction Project Manager will oversee and direct all aspects of large chamber projects, from planning to implementation. This includes regular in-depth project review to ensure scheduled deliverables and costs. The successful candidate will supervise and coordinate onsite personnel and subcontractors, meeting contractual conditions of performance. High standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications must be maintained. Daily review of work progress is a key responsibility, as is overseeing and enforcing overall site safety compliance for all contractors, client personnel, and the general public around construction areas. All injury and near-miss investigations will be initiated, with initial injury documentation completed and forwarded to direct supervisors. Regular communication with the assigned project manager on all site issues and planning is essential. The Construction Project Manager will interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients. Risk analysis, management, and mitigation are also key responsibilities. Quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques must be ensured. Company and department policies and procedures regarding installations must be followed. The successful candidate will work in a team environment, be quality-conscious, and strive for continuous quality improvement. This role will be based in Atlanta, GA.
About You
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking, and active listening. Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices is essential. Excellent planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation, and contingencies, are required. An in-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations is necessary. Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking, are also essential. Experience with Microsoft Office and computer knowledge is required. Excellent customer service skills are necessary. Strong analytical skills and personal initiative are also required. The ability to work well under pressure is essential.
Requirements
A BS in construction management/engineering or equivalent work experience is required. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods is essential. Proven working experience in construction management is necessary. Five years of working experience as a construction superintendent is required. Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards is necessary. Experience with construction management software packages, including ProCore, is also required. Effective leadership abilities, including motivation, goal-setting, and conflict management, are essential. Excellent time and project management skills are necessary. Excellent documentation skills are required. Extensive travel for long-term chamber projects in excess of six months is a requirement.
