Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substance Abuse Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at UF Health Shands. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide individual, group, and family therapy to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of clinical needs, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless continuity of care, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and level 1 outpatient services.
  • Communicate effectively with referral source professionals, collateral professionals, and patients to ensure timely and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in individual and group clinical supervision, demonstrating professional growth and progress toward credentialing.
Qualifications

We require a Master's or Ph.D. in clinical social work, rehabilitation counseling, counselor education, addiction counseling, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or other CACREP or CSWE accredited Graduate Degree. A minimum of 1 year of clinically supervised experience is required, with preference in substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders. Recovering professionals must have a minimum of three years of continuous sobriety immediately preceding and concurrent with hire date.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation

Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver.' Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Florida license eligible as a mental health counselor, clinical social worker, clinical psychologist, or marriage and family therapist. Addiction Certification (CAC or CAP) preferred. CAP required with no Graduate Degree.
