    The Royal Lahaina Resort is seeking a highly skilled Luau Male Dancer / Fire Knife Dancer to join our team.

    As one of the premier resorts in Hawaii, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for our guests. Our Luau Show is a staple of our resort's entertainment offerings and is known for its authentic Hawaiian/Polynesian songs, dances, and skits.

Job Description

    We are looking for a talented dancer who can perform as part of our Luau Show. The ideal candidate will have excellent dance skills, be able to maintain high performance standards, and provide exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain performance standards as directed by the Luau Artistic Director
  • Provide professional authentic Hawaiian/Polynesian songs, dances or skits before, during and after the show
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled rehearsals and trainings for the show as required
  • Perform all assigned pre-shift and post shift duties including but not limited to cleaning the dressing room and backstage areas before and after the show
  • Ensure daily preparations for the Luau Show are in order, i.e., costumes and equipment
  • Follow the daily performance schedule (line up) for each show
  • Maintain the quality of the choreography for each performance
  • Ensure all equipment/instruments, costumes, and supplies are kept in good condition
  • Perform the lei greeting and picture taking with guests
  • Participate with the Imu ceremony as needed
  • Perform the torch lighting ceremony when in operation
  • Perform the pre-show
  • Learn and perform all the dance numbers and songs of the show
  • Assist other dancers to learn and perform all the dance numbers and songs of the show
Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in traditional Hawaiian/Polynesian dance styles
  • Excellent physical fitness and flexibility
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Compensation

    Estimated salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience
