The Speech Therapist PRN position at Nexus Children's Hospital is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech assessments and evaluations for patients as assigned.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' communication needs.
- Evaluate patient response to treatment and document treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and staff on speech-language pathology services.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in patient care conferences, rehabilitation department meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
- Conduct in-services and educate staff on speech-language pathology topics.
- Administer vital stim and Modified Barium Swallow Studies as required.
- Contribute to the development of student programs and act as a preceptor to SLP students.
- Assist with discharge planning and complete necessary paperwork.
- Document and charge daily therapeutic units timely and accurately.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Minimum one year of experience working with pediatric or adolescent populations.
- State of Texas licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
- AHA BLS/CPR certification.
- SAMA or other Nexus-approved Behavioral Intervention certification.
- Current tuberculosis test and certification in good standing.
