About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Correctional Healthcare Specialist to join our team at Advanced Correctional Healthcare.

Job Summary

This role requires a Physician PRN with experience in primary care, corrections, and/or managed healthcare delivery. As a Correctional Healthcare Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical services to inmates at Dunklin County Jail-Kennett, MO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Assessments: Perform problem-focused, individualized medical assessments to provide timely and effective care.
  • On-Site Presence: Be physically present at assigned correctional facilities on a regular basis to ensure continuity of care.
  • Documentation: Accurately document dates and times of provided site coverage by logging hours into our online payroll system.
  • Emergency Response: Provide 24/7 on-call phone services and back-up call support for other facilities as needed.
  • Prescription Management: Prescribe medication (including narcotics) within your prescriptive authority, considering factors like medication adverse reactions, interactions, substance abuse issues, mental health disorders, comorbidities, allergies, pain level, vital signs, contraindications, drug monitoring, etc.
  • Patient Care: Review patient medical records, sign off on orders, and comply with correctional facility policies and procedures.
  • Professional Development: Endeavor to attend a minimum of 1 ACH medical conference per year to stay updated on best practices.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Possess a current state license in the state where services are to be provided (MD, DO, Nurse Practitioner, Physicians Assistant).
  • Certifications: Hold current DEA registration (not applicable to NPs or PAs), collaborative agreement (not applicable to MDs or DOs), BLS certification, and hands-on training.
  • Experience: Have experience in primary care specialty, corrections, and/or managed healthcare delivery.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - 150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
