Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a Highway Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of highways, including operating heavy equipment, removing debris, and installing and repairing guardrails and signs.

This is a temporary position that will last for 9 months or less, and you will be working in a team environment with a lead highway maintenance specialist and multiple highway maintenance specialists. You will be required to work in all weather conditions and near high-speed traffic, and you must be willing to respond to emergencies outside of regular work hours and work overtime, including weekends and holidays.

To be successful in this role, you must have at least two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience, and you must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no restrictions on air brakes that allows operation within the State of Colorado. You must also be willing to live within thirty minutes' driving time of the workstation and/or equipment location.

We offer a competitive salary of $17 per hour, and you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment, including tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractors. You will also have access to training and development opportunities to help you advance in your career.
