Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to provide exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare team. As a key member of our medical facility, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our services and delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers in performing medical procedures and examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information accurately.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and preventive measures, promoting health and wellness.

Administrative Duties:

  • Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR).
  • Handle patient inquiries, phone calls, and correspondence professionally and promptly.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare facilities as needed.
  • Manage medical supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring availability and proper functioning.

Clinical Support:

  • Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens for analysis.
  • Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests as required.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited institution.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, basic pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards of healthcare practice.
