Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Services Manager to join our team at Palermo Rhodes. This is a unique opportunity to bridge sales and engineering functions, providing leadership to sales engineers and business development representatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, sales, or leadership, with experience in a construction-adjacent or engineered product industry. A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is preferred, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.

The Commercial Services Manager will be responsible for leading the sales engineering team, driving business development, building customer relationships, and coordinating cross-department functions. This role offers a clear path to leadership, with opportunities to advance to an Engineering Manager or Sales Manager role within 1-3 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales Engineering Team: Manage and mentor a team of sales engineers, ensuring their technical development and leadership growth.
  • Drive Business Development: Collaborate with business development representatives and sales engineers to promote new and existing products, aiming to get them specified in key projects with developers, architects, and general contractors.
  • Build Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, engineers of record, developers, architects, and general contractors.
  • Coordinate Cross-Department Functions: Work closely with production, engineering, and sales teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment on business initiatives.
  • Foster Innovation & Product Development: Identify and implement new business initiatives, including potential new products or methods, such as new attachment systems or bundling techniques, to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred or actively pursuing.
  • 5+ years of experience in a construction-adjacent or engineered product industry.
  • Experience in business development, sales, or leadership is highly preferred.
