Senior Medical Director of Clinical Affairs
MaineHealth Medical Group

MaineHealth is seeking a highly collaborative and inspiring physician leader to oversee the clinical affairs of its medical group. The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for physician and APP recruitment, documentation audit and coding education, and administrative support for leadership functions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on quality and performance outcomes, clinical credibility, and the ability to inspire and direct people to achieve organizational goals. They will also have a broad understanding of management and finance, as well as strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of physician and APP recruitment
  • Documentation audit and coding education
  • Administrative support for leadership functions
  • Supporting the hiring, onboarding, and continued professional development of physicians and APPs

Requirements:
  • Education: MD or DO
  • License/Certifications: Board Certified/Eligible
  • Experience: Minimum of five years' progressive and relevant healthcare management experience
  • Ability to provide direction and inspire people to accomplish organization goals
  • Strong focus and demonstrated interest in quality and performance outcomes
  • Clinical credibility
  • Ability to understand and appreciate the differences and similarities of clinical practice across the medical group
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Broad understanding of management and finance
