Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced transportation engineer to join our team as a Project Manager. As a key member of our transportation design team, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and project management expertise on a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Create, revise, and execute project work plans, delegate responsibilities and tasks, identify resources needed, and manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes.
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers and clients, including creating and delivering engaging, informative, and well-organized presentations, as well as managing project and team budgets and schedule with weekly tracking.
  • Initiate and maintain client relationships, set and manage client expectations, communicate effectively to identify needs and options when project challenges arise, represent SCJ in project meetings, facilitate team/client meetings, and develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Participate in business development, look for new work opportunities with existing and new clients, listen for and seek out new projects that may exist or are being formulated, identify add-on opportunities as they relate to specific projects, participate in proposal development for new projects, and participate in interviews and presentations as needed.
  • Provide oversight of project staff, develop design alternatives, supervise design staff in preparation of PS&E, and ensure QA/QC process is followed.
  • Complete project documents, including writing draft and final reports, developing draft reports in concert with other project team members, and reviewing deliverables prepared by the team prior to executive-level review and submission to clients.
Requirements
  • A passion for serving others, communication, creativity, and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • A PE license and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible transportation engineering experience.
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation 3D experience, with Civil 3D and/or InRoads experience being a plus.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • The ability to organize and delegate.
  • A healthy balance of logic and creativity.
