Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team at Unicare Community Health Center. As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and detailed documentation of patient visits and procedures.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians to gather information for patient visits and record consultations with healthcare professionals, patients, and family members.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring accurate and detailed documentation as per provider's instructions
  • Accurately and thoroughly documenting clinical visits and procedures performed by the provider
  • Transcribing reports from medical personnel
  • Reviewing reports for completeness and correcting errors in transcription, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Documenting medical diagnosis and treatment to EMR
  • Assisting providers in navigating the electronic health record (EHR)
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least one year of experience in an ambulatory care setting as a Medical Assistant AND knowledge of medical terminology
  • Previous experience in medical transcription or other related fields
  • Familiarity with transcription devices
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of EMR clinical and PM
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to sit for long periods, type accurately, and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients. You will also need to be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
