Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team at BlazerJobs in Peoria, IL.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year (dependent on experience)

This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to work with K-12 students, providing specialized instruction and support tailored to their individual needs. You'll collaborate with a dynamic and supportive advisory team, dedicated to helping you grow and succeed in this impactful role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring they receive tailored support and guidance.
  • Modify and adapt instructional materials to accommodate different learning styles and disabilities, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure student success, fostering a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods and strategies as needed to optimize outcomes.
  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction in both academic and social skills, addressing specific areas of need and promoting overall growth and development.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with parents and school staff, maintaining open and transparent communication channels.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations, upholding the highest standards of quality and integrity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field, demonstrating expertise and knowledge in special education practices and principles.
  • Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License, ensuring you meet the necessary certification and training requirements.
  • Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings, showcasing your ability to adapt and thrive in diverse environments.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing IEPs, utilizing data-driven approaches to inform instruction and drive student success.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal special education laws and regulations, staying up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices.
