Key Responsibilities:

As a Commercial Credit Analyst II, you will play a crucial role in our expanding team by:

  • Collaborating with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers throughout the commercial underwriting process, including new requests, renewals, and annual reviews.
  • Underwriting complex commercial credit exposures within the Corporate Banking portfolio.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to Corporate Banking Analysts.
  • Organizing and analyzing relevant financial data, including audited, reviewed, and company-prepared financial statements, as well as corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Preparing cash flow analyses, testing covenants, and assessing collateral coverage positions.
  • Drafting credit proposal summaries for credit officers, senior executives, and Board members, detailing the analytical framework used to evaluate default risk and recovery prospects.
  • Conducting projections and sensitivity analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Recommending financial and negative covenants based on thorough assessments.
  • Completing various training programs as assigned by management, which may occur outside of regular business hours.

Occasionally, this position may require attending client and prospect meetings off-site. You will also have the opportunity to work towards a Senior Underwriting Officer role or a customer-facing position within the Corporate Banking division.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics. Other degrees may be considered if accompanied by relevant commercial lending experience.
  • A minimum of 12 to 24 months of commercial banking underwriting experience, with skills in credit risk analysis, financial statement analysis, and commercial loan underwriting.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and interact comfortably with executive management.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
